Purpleluggage gets Rocky-fied!

ang workshop na matagal nang pinagpaplanuhan natuloy na sa wakas! :)

last May 14 rocky and i met up at Eastwood to have our swap-workshop. 
little did i know we were going to swap more than techniques and our swap stuff. i thought we were going to have a quiet time just claying, but i don't think "quiet" would describe what we were that day lol

we got a few things in of course, but i really had fun talking and guffawing (laughing just won't cut it) with rocky. she was so nice, talented and so generous, im really glad our clay date pushed through. and then there's her hubby marlon and little liam who were just as welcoming. thanks sooo much for accommodating me, even if you're all so busy with preparations.




for our swap, rocky gave me this beautiful necklace. soo pretty doncha agree?  
i most definitely think so :) my sister's loved it, too.

--also got a baggie full of image transfers, whoopee!

 we were having so much fun we forgot to take pictures. this was taken after the workshop. we went down to cbtl to have coffee.

IF i had doubts that rocky and i would get along, cbtl would've swept that doubt away. anyone who loves cbtl more than starbucks is a friend in my list lol

Just a little info on the floral headbands I just posted. A lot of people have been asking about them saying they look so pretty and dainty but wonder why they're priced differently than most headbands out in the market, so I wanted to give you guys a little peek into what actually goes into making these pretty floral pieces :) I begin by making the petal canes I will use to make flowers. I usually make them by batches so i always have several canes with the same color scheme. my pasta machine, my trusty sidekick When I've made enough canes, i cut very thin slices from these petal canes and make the flowers by hand, building each flower petal by petal. New Canes

I was in a caning mood today but before making more, i knew i had to sort through the mess of canes i've accumulated over the years.  i've been meaning to sort them out since a lot of them have become too hard or they just don't go  with my designs anymore.   i threw a lot onto the scrap pile, a few i kept, while the other i set aside to make into usable kaleidoscope canes Scrap heap! some canes i tried softening up by dunking them in hot water for a couple of minutes. i needed them soft so they wont break when i make them into kaleidoscope canes. quite a few went into this cane covered it with a striped sheet i had lying around from when i made the peacock feather cane. not my current palette, but it's a happy looking cane so i'm giving it away instead :) i really loved how the first cane i did using this improvised technique turned out (the black and white one)   so i decided to make more of
